    Default Passed Its M.O.T

Took the car for its mot this morning, it passed first time but was given a notice about the headlights, apparently the headlight lense is slightly clouded, the guy told me that it can be a common problem but its not classed as a failure, has anyone heard of this or he having me on? Need to tax next!

I have heard of cloudy lenses before. Instead of being clear, the plastic has discoloured. If it is on the outside a light set sand and a polish is needed.

He's advising you about it now because if it gets any worse it may disrupt the beam image pattern, which would then be a reason for rejection. I would have done the same as it's in your best interests and good working practice to advise the presenter of the vehicle with defects that are not testable items but may marr testable items in time or defects in general that need attention.

Ive seen this on a Vectra C for the first time last week, the inside of the lens was like a cloudy moisture, like water had been in the lens....I looked at it because this always used to happne to my Vectra-B (early ones) with the glass light rather than plastic cover, so I thought they still havent sorted the problem. COuld this be what he means?

Not really, as it usually means Ive had to spend more money on the b133der. I usually find my car drives better after a thorough clean!

Trouble is, it doesnt stay clean long. Also, anyone seen the queue's outside the petrol stations, I paid 115.9p a litre this morning, then paid £45 (due to rise to around £50 soon) for the MOT now ive to pay £210 for tax by the end of the month, whats going on?
