    Default Vectra OnBoard Computer

    Hi!

I owned Mercedes-Benz C-model (w202) diesel-automatic-wagon and changed it to year 2005 Vectra-C Wagon. Vectra is nice car to drive and handles well, even compared to mercedes (year's 97 model really so not directly comparable). Now I got some questions regarding car (sorry about my bad English) :

    * Onboard computer : I got standard BC button, when pushing it, it gives BC1 and BC2 menus. There are displayed middle-consumption and driven distance, no other information. BC1 displays different values than BC2, why !?

    * I cannot get distance view or in-time-comsumption view to the computer display, no matter what keys I press (I know they are there since in car's manual are pictures about this, and when I run low on the gas, there comes range'o'meter automatically!). Any ideas ?

    * I dont now if car has check control. It is ecuipped with automatic-climatic (2 areas), automatic transmission etc. but it cant even tell when windshied washer liquids are running low! That is strange..

Otherwise car drives great. Minor noises are comign from chassis when driving bumps (strings has been covered) but it's bearable. However, sounds get really much stronger when it gets colder, propoably some rubber parts are end of life.

Car has been driven 180 000 kilometers now.

Thank you for yours answers already!!

to answer your first question, you have two trip computers and they can be reset individually.

Think of it as having 2 seperate OBC's

Each One can be individually reset, hence OBC1 and OBC2

Instant fuel and range remaining, this is the Main Screen, Select Main, scroll accross to the OBC and that's where the Instantaneous fuel is.

On board check control, very probably has, easiest way to do is to open up rear light cluster and remove a bulb, 1 min work..or empty washer bottle.

I have a weird effect/problem with mine too.
I reset the ECU (battery disconnect) at the weekend while doing a few jobs so both BCs were also reset. Done about 100 miles since and noticed today that BC1 & 2 report the same distance & fuel used as you would expect..... but the consumption is different! BC1 says 34.1 & BC2 says 35.7.
Can't figure out why they should be different at all, especially by such an amount.
