Indicator stalk is pants!

No idea what is wrong but on a certain road i use everyday, I flick the indicator on to turn left and it always flicks off before I reach the turn. Drives me mad, there is no other bend or turn to confuse it and I am pressing it hard enough to avoid the 3 flash manouver blink.

Maybe I shoud accept it as a feature,

Now, I have two sides of the sory on this. My old 54 plate Veccy was dreadful and dowright dangerous for the reasons you mention. If you search back through here a couple of years you will find posts by me slating this. I was always bemused when people replied saying they thought the indicators were brilliant.

Now here's the twist. On my new vec the indicators, despite being the same, work absolutely perfectly. That leads me to believe the problem that defiantely exists on some can be fixed?

its probably down to the steering angle sensor.. they sense the angle the steering wheel has been turned.. So if you've had tracking alignment done it may have thrown out the cim's steering alignment.. Just a thought...

When you say 'flick', I gather you mean lightly 'tap' and I am sure it will flash for 3 times then go out - thats for motorway driving when you want to change lanes, lightly flick and it will flash three times and then go out. If you are indicating to carry out a maneuver the press slightly harder.

yep, pushing it hard but still flicks off...seems to affect this eft turn more than others. I really dont like th vec c indicators at all - hard to cancel too.

there is a problem with some cars, 2 of my 3 vecs had the same thing, indicators cancelling just as you turn, in both cars it was a new CIM module thats was required.

Mine were fixed under warranty fortunately, these are quite expensive and they need programmed to your car and keys
