Default Our sons first job offer.

A couple of months ago my youngest son jack who is 16 and doing his gcse's sent his cv off with a covering letter, to a local accountancy company. After 2 - 3 weeks he got a reply from them asking if he would like to go and have a look around there offices and meet the staff etc, which he did. He met the manager who told him that the company owner would probably like to meet him before he stood a chance of being employed but he was on holiday. A couple of weeks later he got another reply asking if he would like to do a 2 day work experience with them and meet the owner. We bought him a couple of decent shirts and ties, new trousers and wished him luck and told to enjoy it and try to impress. Well another 2 weeks passed and today he has been offered the job of trainee accountant. Both me and his mum are so proud of him and that he has been given the oppertunity to learn the job he has always wanted to do.
IT just goes to show that all kids are'nt thugs and morons as our oldest son (19) is now qualified gas engineer, also very proud of him too

The reason they are turning out good is probably because you haven't walked out on them while they grew up, and possibly family love and a bit of desire saw them right, I'm pleased for you mate.

Nice one, good for him. It must be a gret feeling to see him setting out into working life.
I spent a day with my bosses 14-year old son the other day on work experience. I was suprised that he thought that IT was cool! I thought all kids considered it too geeky.
The thing that most impressed him was the palm print scanners in the data centre, though!
