My Weekend
I started Saturday by the going out to buy all the food for the party in the evening and the picnic for Sunday, then back home to meet up with Doctor DJ (Neil) after which the two of us drove to the camping site, (Mark had already gone to the site). After getting lost on the way, (although I have been there before) we found the site and found quite a few people there putting up tents. After meeting some new faces and some old ones, we started the Party. Thanks to Chris and Ryan for cooking the BBQ and keeping himself away from the food. (I hope everyone had enough to eat) and if they did not get enough meat, there was a huge Birthday cake, but no one would sing Happy Birthday with me. At about 9ish, I afraid that the day was too much and Neil drove me home, but I think that the party carried on for a long time.
Sunday
Andrew-Ti, Shaz and Luke stayed over night with us and we were all up at 5am Neil turned up at 5.30 and we convoyed to the Pod. I must say that at several points on the journey I did think that we had the wrong day, as we only saw one other possible car, but that worry was displayed when we drove up airfield road and found the QUEUE. After taking over an hour and half to get to our stand, I was just a little annoyed to find our position on the site. But as always the members smiles made me feel better. After parking, Mark, Neil and I walked to see Phil and then after a very quick look round the trade stands, it was a long walk back to the stand and to work. I collected the votes of members and started worrying again as at one point there were 6 cars in first place, but after a few late votes Shan won with his lovely Signum. At this time I would like to thank MTC, Ian C and Andy.l for voting their favorite car, Ed Taylor. The trophies to the two of the them was presented by Duncan, thankfully he did not talk to long (Well that is me out of a job) after the picnic. After that I vegged out for a short time and then time to start saying goodbye to people and sit in a two and half hour queue to get out
I did not get time to take any photos at all, so sorry no pics in this post.
As this was my first event I have organised for Vectra-C, I was a little apprehensive, but the standard of cars was great and I would like to say thank you all for turning up and making the stand great and a special thank you to all that helped, Plasma (Dean) and Soulman (Ian) for parking everyone, Andrew-Ti, Pricey (Craig) and Ian-T for bringing their gazebos and Neil for helping with the food
I am now looking forward to the next show
