Default GSI 3.2 Code Reader Question...

    Hi folks,

I've had a fair search on this subject, and don't really feel i'm clear on what works and what doesn't...

So, apart from going crazy and purchasing a Tech 2, is there a plug in code reader / data viewer available for my 52 gsi...???

Any help, as always, would be much appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Ian B

Hi there Ian, I have the Opelscanner Advanced, Canbus edition, and it lists the 3.2 so I'd be pretty sure that it'll work on your car.

The only thing is that it needs a laptop to work.

I also know that Vaux-Com would work, it's a very advanced piece of kit if you can afford it.

the answer is there's LOADS of kit that will read the engine codes...

body/gearbox/electrical etc etc codes are a no -no for many code readers.. if you want to access the rest of the car apart from the engine then i can't reccommend Ilexa's VAUXCOM enough to you.. yes, it's a big lump of wedge at £500 BUT it's got free updates for life ( and there have been 10 in the last year) to enable it to do more and more...

as TECH2 is £4.5K , i think that £500 is an utter bargain..

as you're quite local i'd be happy to demonstrate it on your own car..

If, on the other hand, it's only engine codes that you need to read, then this method is cost competitive
