Default Might be of interest to someone

My 2.2 Direct is in the stealer atm having some warrenty work done on the exhaust system. (Should have had it back Friday but Vx sent the wrong parts). From what I understood they have modifyed the part (not sure which one as not technically minded but 'manifold' was mentioned) to bypass the EGR and replace with a blanking plate???

Anyone have any ideas? (and if so can put it in non teccie terms )

its the swivel valve (inlet manifold)... along with putting a blanking plate to the EGR.

Yep the 2.2 fix for a dodgy EGR is to turn it off via tech 2 and blank it off. Its not required for MOT just from factory. The same lump in the U.S. doesn't even run an EGR system.

So I no longer have an EGR? how will that affect MPG / horsepower?

Is this worth doing even if your not experiencing any problems yet?

It won't. The EGR is there simply to improve emissions when starting from cold.

If they have taken the full system out there will be no pipe going into the bottom of the manifold. The 2.2 guys take it out cos it exits just behind the TB, but sticks up about 2 cm's into the airflow, getting rid of this just smooths the flow out.
