Well i'm absolutely knackered! Think a little scooter might be in order next time, we must have walked miles.
Set off from Leeds at 7am, 20 miles down the M1 I asked Lisa if she'd brought some new batteries for the camera...............her answer was "Well haven't you got the camera!" So no camera as im not turning back, gutted.
Journey down was great, M1 very free flowing, kept passing convoys of Corsa's and Astra's blinged up the the eyeballs, but not one Vec C. Eventually came up behind my first very smoky Vec about 5 miles from the Pod, Just after I realised it was Tam his Sat nav took him another way, hope you got the alright mate, the car looked stunning. Then came the traffic! 3 miles from the track and a complete standstill for over an hour.
In the pod and I got my very own bog to park in, but near the gates so ripe for a good exit.
Made our way through the circuit to find you guys right round the opposite end Arrived just in time to see Nutron returning from the strip minus exhaust and with plumes of white smoke billowing from under the bonnet (although I hear he lost the zorst yesterday) Hope its not to bad, and hope you got home ok.
All the cars looked spot on guys and you should all be very proud of all the hard work you guys put in, having walked through all of the various Club pitches I can honestly say that you can see you guys went the extra mile.
With me being a bit shy and going into my shell around people I dont know I didnt really introduce myself to many guys, It was a pleasure to meet the guys I spoke too and I apologise to the guys I missed. Next year im camping so there's no escape for me .
Good to finally meet you Vid and your good lady, or as Lisa put it "Another Vectra-C widow" Car sounded great, got me thinking about my Credit Card!!! Made it worse looking at the 2.2 dbilas zorst manifold on the Regal stand
Away from the club cars I was a little disappointed TBH, I expected far more from the big tuners and trade stands. You cant sell what you dont have for sale and I didnt see much for newer cars, unless you own an Astra VXR!
So all in all I had a great day and am now suffering from a typical Yorkshire Tan. Ive got 12 months to get my behind in gear for next year so I best get cracking.
