Default Waiting for my new windscreen

I hope the windscreen company turns up very soon to replace my windscreen so i can attach my rain sensor properly and to remove the large crack on the drivers side.

As yesterday i was given some good news from the other half (she who must be obeyed) as i had been good and i could go PVS.

So hurry up Mr Windscreen man i need to wash, wax and polish ready for Sunday.

He finished at 12:15 and no i havent left for PVS, but im £70 lighter but it did not affect my no claims bonus, the only trouble is that i can not drive the car for an hour and not wash it for 24 hours, but me think i can get away with doing it with a damp sponge / mitt. And it appears that the grey trim to go around the mirror that i have is not for a vectra so will have to have a look in the forum for the part number.

Unless i can get one from PVS???

Got any pics? As an ex-windscreen fitter I may be able to help. Also, you wont have any issue washing the car by hand, just don't point a pressure washer at the windscreen/where it meets the bodywork. But water can run over it no issue.

If it's for a Vectra C mate the news ain't good, when mine went Autoglass wanted £600 to replace it, RAC wanted £350, I eventually got a local to do it at just over £200 which turned out to be the right way to go, when the car got written off all the side was caved in but the screen was still 100%, and as it's body flex that breaks most of them it showed they fitted it right.

you get a small stone chip, you can normally repair, but body flex forces the chips to crack. The screens are a major structural part of the Vehicle. Around £200-£250 sounds about right for a small company, RAC & Autoglass are a lot more!
