    Default Tomtom location!!!

    Hi

Have a 07 1.8 Design. Have just bought a tomtom one and don't really want to have a sucker on my window. Bought a clip that fits to the air vent but find the clip is really difficult in getting off.
Where do you put yours? What do you use?

    Cheers

    Matt

My tomtom is on the windscreen. I try to wipe the mark off when I leave the car.

Someone mentioned using elastic bands (left behind by the postie) and using these to attach the tomtom to the air vent. Not tried it myself but appeals to my scottish nature..........

I've got an old TT300 and since new i've used the Brodit Proclips.

Comes in two parts, one specific to the Satnav unit and one specific to the car.

Best off all though it doesn't need a holes drilling in the dash to fit them and doesn't leave the tell tale circle on the window from suckers.

I've just bought my Vec so i've recently had to change the ""Proclip"" part of the setup to a new one, cost me £16 with postage.<<Just for the Proclip part.

In total depending on what sort of mount you go for Tilt/swivel/powered etc could cost you up to £40 in total, depends how much you want to splash out.

    Take a look at

    http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/

    And

click on the first ad centre page and it will take you

    http://www.ultimateaddons.co.uk/information/brodit.htm

First box in the centre, clips and mount, to find out where in the vec you want to install it and then once you've got the right proclip number back to frontpage and scroll down the ads on the left for Brodit Satnav mounts.

I've used it for like i say probably 3-4 years and loved it cos theres not a wobble to contend with like the flexy window suckers.

    EQ.

I looked at Brodit & all the other mounts but finished up making my own from Stainless Steel / Carbon Fibre, & a Brodit Move Clip stuck to a Tilt & Swivel mount. I'm not totally happy with the braket & I'm thinking of remaking it from aluminium when I find some about 6mm thick
