    Default Getting New Car

Hi Folks, I'm new to the forum but from what I can see it seems like a great place.
I'm getting a new company car in the next few weeks and I think I might go for a new shape Vectra SRi 1.9 diesel. I was originally hoping for a new Passat Sport 2.0 TDi, but it's out of my lease bracket. I think they look a bit dumpy anyway
Any ideas what colour the new SRi looks best in? Also should I go for the Plus Pack? (I like the sound of those 19" wheels and upgraded stereo)
I'm initially thinking of one of the silver colours or Ultra blue....?

    Thanks

Hi welcome to the site, I would go for the 19" wheels, and if the firm is paying for it get anything extra you can, as if you become addicted,[ useing this site you could well become very addicted], then you will not have to change or add too many things later.
enjoy the new car, and the site, we are a good bunch of people, don,t be afraid to ask any questions, there will allways be someone here to answer them.
    Take care
    Ed.

    Thanks guys,
I read somewhere that the 19" wheels really mess up the ride quality and that you feel every little bump. I currently drive an Alfa 147 so I like a sporty ride but I dont want it to feel like a go-kart!
They do look the business though... maybe the ride isn't so bad...??

    Here's the extract I read:
The car sits on the same ‘Epsilon’ platform as the current SAAB 9-3, so it’s far from the stodgy old pudding the previous Vectra was. I suspect it rides a lot better too, but wasn’t able to judge that properly because someone had seen fit to ‘bling’ the test car up on optional 19” alloy wheels shod with thin strips of 235/35 ZR19 rubber. So, of course, while accelerating hard, any imperfection in the road surface had it torque-steering all over the place. Braking on the uneven surfaces now provided before most roundabouts also upset it quite badly. Even road markings could be felt through the steering. Yet, in spite of this, the ride over traffic harming measures was not too bad. So I strongly suspect that on more sensible, standard 17” wheels and tyres there would be less to complain about. And there would be no grouches at all on the 215/55 R16s of lower spec Vectras.

Welcome mate, check out the gallery, there's pics of different colour vecs to see so you can decide.

Ignore any other opinions on here, Silver Lightning is accepted as the best looking colour. Honestly, I'm (not very) impartial LOL!

    Enjoy the site mate,

    Welcome

Check out Gallery for mine. 1.9 CDTi 150bhp with quite a few bits on it. Estate too and fast as ****.

    Very pleased!

Plus pack definetely. I would of had the 19" wheels but I prefer the look of my 18"s and remember tyre prices are ALOT cheaper on 18's.

There's loads of colours that (in my opinion) look very good on the Vec C. Just remember that if you go for one of the dark colours they show up the dirt more. I compromised and went for the Silver Lightning; it shines up beautifully and doesn't show the dirt too much.

I've put aftermarket 19's on mine and don't think they're too harsh at all. If your Lease budget can stretch to it defo get the alloys and any extras you can. You'll only want them after seeing them on some other members cars on here.
