    Default Fitment of Rain Sensor

As some of you know i have the rain sensor to fit, been very busy with work and the the little one/garden to get to this mod,but now have purchased a sheet of sign writing material and now can retro-fit the sensor without having to buy the windscreen.......
What i need to know is would a smear of silicone on the back of the used sensor be enough to secure it to the screen, also would i need to remove the old silicone thats there already and will it stay in place while the silicone goes off......

I know i need to make a hole for the sensor which i'll do once in place, with an implement the right size......

I wouldn't take of the silicon on the sensors myself, just give it a bit of a clean. They do stick on quite tight anyway. Give it a try first and see how it holds.

What's the sign writing material for exactly?

Good luck Glen, let us know how you get on.

This is something I'm thinking about as soon as I locate a nicely priced sensor.

Nope!! the windscreen comes with a metal black holder, same as the the sensor has two silver prongs on each side that fold down, once folded down they clip into the windscreen sensor holder. Previous mobile windscreen technician talking from experiece.... you NEED a windscreen aswell mate!
