    Default Hardwire

Hello all. I have just bought some rear headrest DVD players, and need to hardwire them in. I was thinking of wiring them to the rear cig lighter, but I would like it to have a constant live. Can anyone suggest a way of doing that? And if I did use the cig lighter, would I damage anything if I left the ignition on for long periods of time (without the engine on? thanks for any advice.

I've done it now anyway. I took a permanent 12v live from the fuse box and earthed it to the car body. Works fine.

    Very Neat.

    They look like factory fit!

Where did you route the power?

Also where do you put the USB? Into the ports at the front?

    Best Regards,

    Matt

Thanks, I routed the power to the fusebox in the boot (perminant live). It comes with an adapter for a memory stick that plugs into the front of it. It plays just about everything.

Sorry - what I meant was how did you route the power through the seat/ headrest? Cant see any wiring around the headrest pins etc.

    Regards,

    Matt

Oh I see sorry. The power cable comes out the metal posts and down inside the seat out the botton. The back of the vec's seats comes off to make it easy to run the cable down. These are the one I bought http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-7-HEADREST-...QQcmdZViewItem
yuo can see in one of the pics were the cable comes out.

    Ah Rite,

Think I get this. So you get the headrests with the monitors already built in then - universal to fit all car seats - is that right?

Then you simply wire up & plug/ play the media?

How do the screens play in sequence? If you only use one USB slot?

Sorry for all the questions - not normally interested in media - but this has caught my eye,

    Matt
