Brake discs under Warranty ???

Hi I have just had a new valve put in one of my back wheels the bloke at the garage told me my back dicks are f---ed and I should go back to vaux and they should sort them out under warranty as its only just gone one year old and with just 20,000 on the clocks so I rang vaux up & they said bring it in we will need it a day and we will let you no if we think it’s a warranty job he also said I could have been doing hand brake skids & that might have f---ed the disks up lol year 40 year old doing hand brake skids in my family car so if any of you have any info I can quote to them when I take it in every little helps & if like every one else they will try get me to pay full price and if they can they will get out of warranty they also said that the car had a recall on it to sort the hand brake out on this model ?

sorry, but they will considered 'wear and tear' parts... you'll be very lucky to get them under warranty..

as for the recall.. if it's a manual it'll need the work done..

Wear & tear lol would think you should get more than 20k out of a set of back disks ?

The C's are renowned for eating rear discs, quite often they wear out before the fronts. The composite materials used for pads nowadays act as an abrasive and effectively grind the disc away. 20,000 is not unusual I'm afraid

:edit: if it's a network Q warranty they will change them... if it's VX then they may well refuse..

I think its just a vaux warranty so what do they say if your engine blows up its wear and tear ?

Wonder if they will do a up date on my sat nav at the same time for free or will they charge me it’s got a 2006/7 cd in but old firm wear I think

lol.. it's a big difference between a failed engine and a set of discs which are designed to wear out in use.. the days of discs lasting years is well over.. now they last as hard as you use them... i've had 3 sets on the fronts and 2 on the rears in 50K...

you can ask... but the disc itself is quite cheap.. there is a thread in the audio section for plasma's disc which is doing the rounds...
