    Default Oil Level Sensor

Hi does anybody know the location of the oil level sensor?

Or, more to the point, any ideas as to what would cause the oil light to come on? It usually seems to come on after about 30 minutes driving. Oil level at cold is fine. Im assuming blocked/restricted oilways or something?

    Thanks

    Gavin

I had a similar problem on a Vectra B SRI, the MFD kept coming up with Check Oil Level after about 30 min m'way driving....went to Vx, they said dont worry about it as the sensor is in the sump....meaning a complete strip down and another oil change to change....so as they said, I though S0D That and just kept checking the oil level before a run. Maybe located in the same place!

Hmm, confused about this now. I found the sensor at the front of the sump, and disconnected the wiring from it. Took it on a test run, and the light still came on after a while of driving. Is there anything else that would cause the low oil light to come on? I'll have another look around the sump tonight to see if i can see another sensor I have missed.

If the wiring isn't connected to the sensor then it's obvious that the light is going to come on
However, it's probably based on the oil temperature, so more than likely another sensor at the top of the engine

the oil level warning light has nothing to do with a oil temp sensor..

it will be a failed level sensor going open curcuit.. change the level sensor if the oil level is correct to the dipstick..
