Default Drove an Astra 1.9 Cdti Today 57 Plate 120 ?

Had the use of an Astra 1.9 Cdti 57 Plate ( No red Ti) 8 Valve.
& i must say, I was suitably impressed,
Are the Gear ratios the same as the Cdti vectra Estate ? as it felt quite nippy & reasonably Torquey. It had not got the Edge over my Cdti 150 Estate, But i would say in a rolling Drag there would be ****** all in it & off the line, The astra would probably have the Edge , re weight Etc ...

    It's got me a Thinking !!!

& i've just bought an Irmscher Roof spoiler for Ole Sherman

I had the 150 version as a hire car a while ago, and I was really impressed withi it. The pull was great and so was the handling.

We have the 150 astras at work, and they certainly feel nippier. I would go so far as to say that a standard 150 astra would have no problem keeping up with my remapped 150 vectra.

Not sure what the exact weights are for the 2 cars, but I bet the lighter astra has significantly more BHP per ton.

    The Astra 1.9CDTI (150)

    Kerb Weight: 1278 kg

    The Vectra 1.9CDTI (150)

    Kerb Weight: 1428 kg

Someone else can do the math if they want

Interesting... The vec would need 167BHP to have the same power/weight ratio. That's why the Astra feels quicker though

Yeah nice cars, the XP models certainly look sportier

I've been looking at them myself, i'm looking to have a got an Astra by October08 - might look into the 1.6T(180) SRi, depending on the mpg etc
