    Default Sky Broadband

I'm looking at finally succumbing and getting Sky+ (with the free box offer via the F-I-L).

I'm thinking about taking up the free Broadband offer and canceling my current Broadband (thereby paying towards the Sky). It's a 2mb download limit though. I only use Broadband for general browsing, so will this be enough, or will I have to upgrade.

2mb is your browsing speed... more than enough for web browsing and also live streaming from the likes of you tube. Check the amount of 'gigs' they allow you to download per month. I'd suggest as an email/web browsing thingy 5 gigs would be more than enough

2Mb is plenty for general browsing m8. Why not upgrade to the Mid package for an extra fiver. Up to 8Mb download speed and 40Gb bandwidth limit

I only get Half a meg speed where I live. Can't get any faster because I live more than two yards from the exchange, so offers of 8mb don't really make a difference for me. I'd be happy to get the 2mb.

Have Sky told you that 2 Mb will be available or is that what your line supports. If your line will only support 500Kbps then no supplier will give you 2 Mb m8

No, it's up to 2mb. I know I can only get half mb, so there's no point in going for anything that offers faster speeds.

    Is Sky Broadband reliable???

Check HERE Paul Tick the boxes of a couple including your present provider and Sky to compare.

Don't compare it with O2 or Zen as you will $hit yourself when you see how good they are by comparison.

Cheers Tony. Just compared Freedom to Surf with Sky and they come out about equal.

Did a speed test and got this:

    Date 04/06/08 20:52:03 Speed Down 463.43 Kbps ( 0.5 Mbps ) Speed Up 243.14 Kbps ( 0.2 Mbps ) Port 8095 Server speedtest2.adslguide.org.uk
I think I want to cry.
