vauxhall double din adaptor

hello folks,

was looking at a double din unit, but to be honest don't really like the look of the aftermarket ones available...

so, i've seen a few people on here saying that vauxhall do a kit themselves to convert to a single din...is this the case, because if so i'd rather buy from the as i think the colour match / fitting would be better than other versions... don't really care how much it costs, its got to look right...

any info on these would be gratefully received... my vectra is a 52 plate GSI, and the surround is light grey... ish... it certainly isn't black...

anyway, cheers...!!

hi ian i have just done this on my 52 plate gsi i got a kit from caraudiodirect.com and the colour is gunmetal and its a perfect match will try and find a photo

just fitted a double din and the fit and colour is good you can find pics under the ice gallery

oh sorry mate not read it properly!! halfords do an autoleads one i think for about £19 and thats a very good match! or there is a site www.nexxia.co.uk and they do all the adaptors and they look a good match!

alternativly u could go to vx but i know they cost alot more than £19

think i'm going to go for the alpine x001... looks odd but like the idea of it... going to hate ripping out the double din -- but i think anything apart from the standard head unit is going to look naff no matter what...

i'm going to buy the proper vauxhall adaptor... couple of things... do most dealers keep these in stock... if not how long do they take to arrive... and what colour do i need to go for... my car's a 52 plate gsi...

well, got the alpine fitted... and it may be worth checking folks, but when i ordered the double adaptor using the part number on this website... it looked ok... but when it was fitted there was a gap by the climate control unit, and generally didn't fit square etc...

the company that fitted it got hold of a non vauxhall one and lo and behold fits a treat... very strange..!!

any ideas?
