I had to got to the office for our "Engineers meeting" today. There were some new engineers to meet, new working practices, the boring facts/figures etc etc. The best bit is the award of the "Best Engineer" awarded for dedecation to customer service and helpfulness in going the "extra mile" etc.
I won it at Xmas which was a total shock as i am very good with my customers but tend to give work a hard time as i do not suffer poor communication, office blunders etc. that hinder my work and customer care. They ultimately pay my wages and if the customer does not get good service from me they can always go to another service company.
Well blow me...........I won it again This time i was told the reason was because i would not leave a Frankie & Benny's until all the repairs had been done as i had to remove most of the cookline to get access to a water leak. The electrics were soaked and had to be redone, I repaired the leak as the plumber could not come until late afternoon The equipment then had to be refitted and the water mopped up. I was there all day until they could open for business. I ended up covered in water, oil, grease and sweat, totally knackered but with a sense of satisfaction.
The area manager thanked me for my hard work and obviously contacted my works to express his gratitude.
So now i have a quality bottle of bubbly to drink and £125 to spend
