    Default Insurance For Cabbies

I know there's a few of you on here, so as it's renewal time for me I've just called up for a quote, currently i've been doing mine on a 3 mth policy at a cost of £265 + £400 excess per quarter making that £1060 per year, I decided to call the firm up in Scotland that's name is Cab and something a knight would use to defend himself from getting sliced up with "put it that was so not to break advertising rules" but you know who I'm on about

So here's the quote, £717 per year + £250 excess, that's at 44 with full bonus one speeding fully comp and bonus protected with Norwich Union, you might wanna use the phone.

Depends on drivers etc etc. but nothing like 3/4 grand its quite cheap just for 1 driver.

I have been quoted 3.5k before by Computer Quote and that was to go with Saga, I smiled and left, she called me back and said...I'll just see what else we have, why oh why not quote me the cheapest one anyway, still only came down to 2k iirc, I informed her I was paying about £900 at the time so I would be declining their offer, still this one with NU seems good, I've had NU before but they have a habit of wanting you one minute and not the next, same with Royal Sun Alliance, obviously someone has woke up and decided to cherry pick who they will and won't insure.

I left em about 15 mths ago because I was gonna sell up so only wanted a 3mth policy, the current one is competitive with what they used to charge me, but I thought I'd see what they could do now, and that was the quote, and it's only £150 more than my 1st ever cab policy was 21 yrs ago

My first years insurance for an "R" plate Vectra Di 6 AND A HALF YRS AGO was circa £1600 TPF+T, I started p/time and they wouldn't allow me to transfer NCD from personal policy. Its about half that now for COMP + protected NCD.
