    Default Ben Nevis

    Evening all,

Just wondering, if anyone on here has climbed Ben Nevis??
There are five of us in a team at work and were thinking about our next day out (normally ten pin bowling and a lot of beer) and we came up with the idea of Ben Nevis, doing it this Wedesday.
    Really looking forward to it!

Sure have...Once with the wife and then when doing the National Three Peaks.

Takes about 4 hours up and 3 down and last time i was up there, there was 6 inches of snow on the sumit in June !!!

Its a nice walk just make sure that your properly equiped , the path is very obvious and you dont have to use your hands at all.
Would recomend getting some walking poles as the steps on the way down really put a lot of pressure on your knees.
    PS
Unlike Snowdon there isnt a train or cafe at the top!!!!!!!!!

I was up round fort william and glencoe today and there is still plenty of snow on the peaks even though it was 23 degrees

All the best for the climb - fort will be a busy place this week as the MTB world cup is on this weekend

yeah , done it three times ... once up the 'tourist route' and twice on the rear face , much much harder at the rear tho, couple of beers in rucksack for the peak is a must the path can be busy also just leave early to avoid the rush lol. gd luck mate
