    Default B6 s Ordered

Following on from this thread http://forum.vectra-c.com/showthread.php?t=49484 i have now ordered some Bilstein B6 shocks to replace the 1500 mile old B4s. So my advice to anyone lowering an Sri is dont bother with B4s as they are slightly longer than the oem shocks and you ll run the risk of bottoming out if you go too low.Mine were ok till they settled doen a bit so i ll probably put the B4s up for sale when the others are on.

P.S Ordered them from here http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/

Yeh, my understanding was that B4's were a direct replacement for SRI's not lowered SRi's. Now I know why people go for B6's and B8's. TBH with the height of some of the speed humps here in Merseyside, 'as we're all joyriders and boy racers.....not!', I've no intention of going any lower than SRi standard.
    Good heads up though.

A few days ago, I was driving along a country lane I'd only previously only cycled along before, and was just about to give it some beans when I saw a sign which wasn't there the last time I cycled along the lane, saying 'Risk of grounding'. Christ, good job, as it was full of hidden dips.

At least that sign was more informative than one I saw years ago on the A24 coming north from Dorking, which simply said 'Dip!'. I thought 'Dip what?' until I hit the dip at a speed somewhat in excess of 70mph.

Not quite, John. The B4 is a direct replacement for the non-sports dampers, but because the SRi is only -15mm, and becuase the Bilsteins are such good dampers, they work well. There's no direct replacement for the SRi damper, I guess you'd need something inbetween the B4 and the B6 - a B5, if there was such a thing!

Got B4's and lowered and it's fine TBH, never bottomed out and I've gave it the beans over bumpy roads. The H&R springs on mine are pretty stiff and haven't lowered as much as said so that will have helped.

Sachs do an uprated damper for the Sri,but they're not cheap at 115 quid each.

That's not bad! The best prices I found were about £130 PER CORNER! That link now saved for my modding plans
