    Default Vectra-C Pitch @ PVS

Maybe I'm jumping the gun here, and please feel free to tell me to bog off (or just delete the thread ) if I am. It's only a week now till PVS and with almost 50 cars this year it's going to take some serious organisation on the part of the parking marshalls!

Do we have any idea what size/shape our pitch will be, and any thoughts on how to organise the cars? Is it worth trying to group them by shape, or by region? If people knew what the marshalls were trying to aim for, it might save some time and effort on everyone's part.

I have left a couple of messages for the chap at Total Vauxhall, but he has not come back to me. I will chase again on Monday.

As to organising the pitch, in the last two years the plan that was hatched before the day, changed on the day, so although we will have some idea it may change.

It is not really possible to group the cars in a certain way as people turn up at different times and once parked there is not a lot of room to shuffle cars.

I will keep you all posted, when I have more info

yep last year they did brilliant with the parking ....looked like they were dropped into place by crane with the amount of room they had.....
i personally would like to see the cars in their own variant groups..IE Estates to gether.... Sigbums ....standard vectras then the modded vectras ...but probibly not poss if room limited ..more of a case of get cars parked

Stick'em all in at random for me. Don't like the idea of a club within a club. (As in modded and unmodded.)

Yep, that's basically what we've done each time at shows. As Cara said, even if we had some idea of grouping cars it's very difficult to put that into practice on the day. People arrive at different times and we need to get them off the access lanes onto the stand. Once they're on, and as more people arrive, any shuffling around becomes almost impossible. Plus unexpected factors - stand smaller than expected (like at PVS last year), parts of the stand unuseable due to being muddy/rutted etc. etc. all mean that whilst there may be ideas in mind, it's only really on the day that we can see exactly what we have to play with.

yep.. all plans we've ever had have had to go out the window when we arrive...with the current wet weather we'll be lucky if the stand is firm and not muddy.. i'll settle for soild grass and be happy...

i vote for mine right at the back please...there's better cars than the GSi in the club..you can't show off speed
