    Default Kwik Fit

Whent to kwik fit today to get my air con re-gased. I rang them first to see if they are still doing the £44.95 deal, and they were, so I went down there. When I got there, I told the bloke behind the counter why I was there, and he said 'keys please, it will be an hour and a half mate' so I said 'don't you need to measure how cold the AC is now, so I can see how you have improved it'. He said 'oh yeh'. So I took him to my car gave him my key, he started the engine and put the air con on, and put his hand over one of the vents and said 'nothin wrong with it mate'. He then said 'I rekon thats about 9 degrees, I don't know what your monin about'. I couldn't belive how he was testing the temp (with his hand). He told me its not worth it as he didn't think he could get it any colder anyway.
So I think I'll go somwere else.

Went to Kwik Fit last Saturday in Hanley, Stoke on trent for a Aircon Regas Etc. They measured it with a Temp probe 34 Deg's So they had no trouble bettering that. When i collected it later , it was peaking @ 6.7 Deg's Paid my £44.95 & went off Nice & chilled, Other garages had stated about £65, So if you can find another Kwik Fit nearby they may be better..

The Machine, Sucks all the Gas out, Vacum tests for leaks, if that passes, It re-gases & adds lubricant, to keep the seals nice & supple, If it finds a leak it just aborts & they then point you in the direction of a Aircon repairer

When replacing the gas, aren't they supposed to add an ultra-violet dye so that future leaks are easier to find?

My aircon is cr*p and stinks. Halfords to the aircon re-charge for about the same price. I'm hopefully going to do mine next week and get it free as it will be 'staff training'
