Default Another New Owner......Run for the hills......

    Greetings,

35yr old ex focus driver from sunny stoke (yes on the odd day it is sunny) saying hi!! to all the other users on here.

I've recently swapped from a focus (stop laughing at the back) to a Vectra Active 1.8 53 reg due to a new arrival in the family and the lack of boot space that the focus meant it was time for a change.

The vectra means i can now carry all the son & heirs baggage (pushchair/toys/changing bags/etc....) with ease and still have room in the boot for more than 2 postage stamps (folded in half).

Whilst owning the Focus i was a member of the FFOC and with the help of the users on there (hope everyone on here is the same) it was quite easy to pull it to pieces and put everything back together after doing little mods (radio/switches/display to blue LEDS, change rear lights, change grills etc etc) and not have to

    A, Visit A&E for stitches

B, have several pieces left over

So onwards with the post, can anyone tell me that

1:- it is usual for the fuel guage to travel at warp speed from full to empty after only 280-330 miles?? I've taken it to the red but not let the light come on before i top it back up and i've only been driving it sensibly (no heavy right foot action)

2:- After reading on here and the VVOC i've gone and upgraded the courtesy light to the one with the map lights on and also got the sunglass holder. How do i fit it without breaking my new car???
I've taken the blanking plate off and also removed the 3 screws under the lense but cannot get it away from the roof as it still seems to be attached by the alarm sensors.

    Can anyone help me please..............

    Cheers in advance.

    EQ.

With regards to the maplights, after undoing the screws, the unit has some lugs on either side that are under the headlining,if you are carefull it should come down with a little ease, great mod to start with, you'll be lowering it and fitting leather interior before you know it.........

As its the law around here,we want pic's please..........

Cheers for the quick reply to this bit glenboy, does the alarm sensor bit come down with the old light then?? as thats the first job once i've served my time here at camp stalag (only a couple of hours till the weeked !!!!) along with fitting a new proclip for the tomtom. As for the pics i'll try and get some sorted over the weekend depends if i'm on feeding and changing duties or i can escape for a wee while to wash the motor (don't want to set the wrong impression and post up some dirty pics now do i)

As for the lowering bit i think that will have to wait as its seems that Stoke have the worldwide patent on speed humps aswell as Gatso's!

Leather interior though..........mmmmmmmmmmmm i'll see once the little un is a bit older, he gets milk everywhere god know what he's going to be like come solid food!!

Cheers for the warm welcome peeps
