Default Question time or am i just blind?

Im still trying to do the auto mirror/rain sensor upgrade but i am struggling to see how the rain sensor is secured?

    1) Is it just stuck onto the window?
    2) Secured to the mirror somehow?
3 What are the metal bits on the both ends of the sensor for?
    4) Ask some one close to me for some help?

All these questions and thats before i even get outside to the car.

    Thanks

The sensor is attached in two ways.

    1. Suction to the windscreen
    2. The windscreen itself has a mounting point that the two metal clips on the sensor attach to.

Yep, if yours broke somehow (like mine did) they'll ask if you have rain sensing wipers, and now yours does (have they been tech2'd yet?) then you can say yes

the metal clips are part of the bracket attached to the windscreen, you get your fingernails underneath the outer edges and pull it gently up towards you, they are like little wings and are hinged at the outer edges respectively. HTH

my windscreen broke because of a 'bit of stone' hit the very very edge where it is weakest and a crack appeared instantly

Doubt they'd be bothered.. I just told the guy I thought someone must have fit the wrong windscreen at some point..showed him the loom and said the sensor was somewhere in the garage.. they just want to fit whatever screen they have.
