    confused Handbrake warning light

The warning light came on this morning, (whilst driving) without the handbrake being applied...
Is this a warning for the clutch/brake fluid level or do i need to investigate the switch?
I havent had time to check any levels (today) as yet, just wanted an opinion.

    Cheers!

Don't really know on the Vec but on all other cars I,ve had it doubles as a low brake fluid warning too.

First check fluid level ASAP, if that is OK might be a faulty sensor, or a problem with ABS system.
Try to check the fluid ASAP (again) not save to drive without good working brakes

I have just checked the fluid reservoir & the fluid is on the lowest level marker, so hopefully a top up might cure it.

Why was it low in the first place? Have you checked for leaks?

To be honest, i think the fluid is low due to...
Rear calipers were changed & just after they were changed one of them was faulty & yes i lost some fluid over the driveway.
The motor was driven to my mates garage with the faulty caliper clamped off as it was leaking,
the caliper was replaced as it was a new part & under warranty, i don't know if the level was topped back up or not.
    However:
Update, i had the warning light come back on this morning & after topping up the reservoir just now the light has gone out & stayed out.
Quick road test with some heavy braking, abs working as it should & fluid level is still at maximum.

    Cheers!
