    Default Vauxhall Aftermarket Parking Sensors

I used to have a little sideline business a while back fitting reversing sensors, so know quite a bit about them.

My Signum was fitted with some crappy ones (with only 2 sensors) prior to me getting the car so I'm going to rip 'em out, repair the holes (as they are not in the proper place) and then fit a 4 sensor system.

My question is, what is the benefit from jumping to the Vauxhall aftermarket kit as apposed to any other one?

depends on how much you want to integrate the VX ones.. They are both speaker based so no difference there, but you can add a dash switch for the VX ones so you can turn them off.

If you only want rears and are not bothered about the switch (don't really need it if only doing the rears anyway), then I wouldn't bother with VX ones (my personal opinion).

I'd go with VX if you're planning on both front and rears though, but you'd probably then be paying a lot more.

Didn't I read correctly that you can TECH2 the car so that the VX ones turn off when you hook something up to the towbar electrics (which are also VX ones).

It's more of a cost thing really, I'm expecting the VX sensors to be about £100, if there is no real benefit then it's not really worth it. I'm assuming it doesn't intergrate into the display.

    Quite possibly.

On my previous SRi I bought ebay ones for about £20 all in and they were fine. There's no integration to the display with the VX ones, they use a speaker in the rear of the roof for the rears and the CIM beeps for the front ones.

So, no real difference from the likes of the ebay ones.

I used to have a great supplier that I found on ebay, I used to buy the kits at £15 and then I'd fit them for £100 (plus £15 if colour coding was required). Made a nice little profit from it.
