    confused Missing Boot Lights?

    Hello (my first post!)

I've recently brought a 05 plate sri cdti (150), and there are no boot lights :-(

I see on the sides, (eg above the first aid box) are 3 rectangular cut out holes on each side that look like any boot lights should be in there, but they are just holes.

Is this normal? Can boot lights be fitted?

    Thanks!

they are vent holes.. the boot light is normally located in the left hand boot liner, just to the rear of the side pocket, right up behind the tailight cluster...there should be a white rectangular light fitting...

usually the wiring is off the back of the unit or the bulb has fell out of it's contact..

This missing boot lamp is down to the dealers (mainly use car). It is removed so that when the cars are on display with the hatch open the bulb does not drain down the battery!!! They must have a fair few of them by now.

Trouble is the dealer doesn't read the manual, the vec turns the lights off itself to save battery drain.

Trouble is, not all Vauxhalls do it, and trying to remember which ones do and which ones don't - along with all the other makes and models on the forecourt as well, its just easier to pull the wires out on all of them and be done with it.

What doesn't make sense is that I brought the car from a private seller. He must have had no boot lights since he brought it froma dealer years ago! ;-)
Thanks again for the help guys!

as you go around your car, you will start to notice things that others have that you dont! its quite pathetic as they are "normal" things you would assume are standard!
