    Default 2.0T exhaust back box

One of my back boxes seems to be shedding a skin. Looks like it's about to fall off. Anyone know how much a replacement back box is from either Vauxhall or a fastfit operation? I'm assuming I can replace just one or do I have to get the pair changed?

    Thanks

you can do them seperatly.. they are around £160 a side TRADE and pattern parts ( non VX) are very rare to come by yet.. so it'll be a VX part really..so expect to get rushed for around £180+V a side..

the good news is they are double skinned, so apart from looking awful it'll still be gas tight hopefully..

That's just it, I'm a bit loath to get just one box replaced if the rest of it's going to keep falling apart. I'm also of the opinion that once you start replacing individual exhaust components you compromise the integrity of the whole system.

In that case I would be better off with a whole new s/s system at some point...

On my last MOT I was advised that the corrosion on the exhaust may be and issue at the next MOT. I enquired with my local VX dealer to replace the system upt to the flexipipe (both back boxes and Y splitter + hangers to the front of the car very badly corroded). I was quoted 1300Quid.

Last week I did exactly what Mark has suggested and had a Magnex system fitted. Best thing I've ever done for this car. Sound is great, all who have seen the car have said it looks good without being garish, and fuel economy has improved from averaging 28MPG to 34MPG.

Total cost was 410Quid including fitting.

    Regards

    Nidge

Thanks, do you have a link for the Magnex supplier?

Also, do the tailpipes fit the standard rear skirt? Got a pic at all?
