Parking Sensor Warning Light/Message

Hi,

I started getting a warning message on the onboard computer regarding parking sensors the other day. It happens every time I try to use them. The systems tries to start up as normal every time I go in to reverse, but the warning light on the dash comes on flashing, and then after maybe 15 to 20 seconds the warning light on the dash stops flashing and displays constantly and at the same time I get a continuous error tone.

I appreciate this means there is a fault, but I wondered if there was any easy checks I can do to find out if it's the control module, or if it's the front or rear sensors for example? it would be nice to think that because the error tone is from the rear that it means the rear sensors were bust? Is it that logical?

Can I purchase individual sensors?

Any other suggestions would be great. They are the factory fitted items on a '04 GSi. Control unit on side of circuit board in boot etc....

yep, sounds like the rear sensors..

have you tried the battery disconnect.. normally sorts out errant controllers....very unusual to have to replace the sensors themselves..
