Default Yellow residue on brake discs !!

It's been tipping down in SE London all day. Which i think has a large bearing on my question.

I noticed this morning that on all 4 brake discs that there was a some noticeable yellow marks which I had not seen before. I ran my finger over one of the discs and was left with the same yellow stuff on my finger tip.

I then drove a shortish distance using the brakes normally (with nothing unusual to report). After the short drive I re-checked the discs and the looked perfectly normal with the yellow stuff gone !!

Can anyone tell me how normal/abnormal this might be and if abnormal what the issue is ?

Car is due into my local VX dealer on Wednesday for some issues to be looked at, including rear brake stuff. Would like to be able to know whether this "yellow" thing needs mentioning !!

    Cheers in advance

Normal, its called "rust" or "Oxidation". Caused by water etc. Nothing to worry about mate
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Cheers guys.

But why would the rust only appear when wet ?

would it not be visible all the time ?

Basically because the water speeds up the oxidation process.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Yeah, Iím for real. Iím well aware of what rust looks like.

The reason I asked the question is that rust in my experience is dark red/orange and the stuff on me fingers was bright yellow !

Still thanks for taking the time to post.

Wash your car with a hose, and then look at the disks an hour or two later, they can be coated with yellow residue that quickly!
