8K for me.
I only do 8k/yr so take it to a friends garage who does the service & MOT at the same time.
Mine does 20k per year and gets serviced then. Its a work / family horse so the least it costs to run the better. I'll trade it in pretty soon after the warranty disapears though!!
My other car (Astra Coupe Turbo) which I intend to keep for a good while only does 4k per year so thats gets serviced well before the 20k limit.
my old car (vectra B) I serviced every 10k and gave 2 oil and filter changes between services.
My vectra c says it only needs doing every 20k including oil changes... so does that mean I can not bother changing the oil for 20k unless it begins to look awful?
I do 20k ish a year.
obviously my beetle engine will get a full service every 3k, but the engine of that will be worth more than my whole vectra.
I leave for the full service life. But, I do a lot of motorway mileage which is kind on engines.
I don't get doing oil changes every 6K = waste IMO.
It could be worse, the eco flex on mine says its 2 years or 30K........ never going to leave it that long!
for me its 10k or yearly... hasnt let me down....
My argument is that the oils have been developed for this mileage, with the engines tested thoroughly. Mine does use a little oil after 15k, usually 0.5 to 0.75 litres, which suggests that the oil isnt doing as good a job as it was, but it is an oil burner. Also - point to note, my car is standard. Tune it and your'e risking it by not changing the oil and filters every 10k imo.
