    Default F40 gearbox update

got phone call today my new gearbox has come to VX
but on the way home i drop in at VX and had a chat with the guy in the stores colin
found out that the 19cdti (120),19cdti (150)and the V6 are all different F40 gear boxes

the old gearbox on 1.9 cdti (120)-F40/RW/WL
and the new one 1.9 cdti (120)-F40/RW/E9

the old gearbox on 1.9 cdti (150)-F40/RW/WK
and the new one 1.9 cdti (150)-F40/RW/F1

the old gearbox on 3.0 cdti (177)-F40/RW/EL
and the new one 3.0 cdti (177)-F40/RW/F2

for a new gear box for the 3,0 cdti is £1440 + vat =£1692.00

So as some of us have said that we where pos about different gear boxes for different engines and this is of VX ordering (parts) computer

Thanks Ian mate, good idea, I'll ask her I think.

I was just wondering if mine was the newer updated one or not as I know the old one was dodgy & me having a CR1 will not help if the box is a bit "weak".

Yes I know, thats my thoughts exactly. With a tuning box I think there is a bit more than 400NM

If the new gearbox is stronger maybe it will be able to take the extra power better, although it's still officialy rated the same?

My gearbox seems perfect so far (famous last words, furiously touching the wood on me table LOL) so am hoping it's not the one made out of balsawood.
