    Default New Exhaust Fitted.

Last week I ordered a Magnex duplex system from Roadrunner Motorsport. I ordered at 4pm on a Monday and it arrived the following Tuesday Morning, very speedy service. I had the system fitted on Thursday, the person fitting saying that it was one of the easiest systems he's ever fitted as it just went together so well.

I'm quite a conservative type of person, sensible shoes and all that, but when the car was brought back from having the zorst fitted I thought I'd have to trade my prog rock and jazz fusion collection for a back catalogue of banging drum and base, a white tracksuite, and some blinging Elizabeth Duke accessories

After a few days of driving around I started to get concerned, my fuel consumption was up , way up . It wasn't until yesterday that I remembered something. A couple of days prior to having the exhaust fitted my wife and I had been having a debate about British V American cars (she's from LA) and I'd changed the computer system to American Gallons Now I'm very pleased to report that the fuel consumption, in reality has improved by quite an amount. On a test run where I usually get about 28mpg, I recovered 32.8mpg and that was with the occassional silly bits.

Soundwise the exhaust has a very nice low tone to it when idling It is a little louder, but more harmonious when being revved compared to the original VX system. But it is also quieter in the cab when cruising at a steady 60-70mph. I'll be going back to the fitters later this week just to have the position of the system tweaked a little, the tails protude a little bit too far from the rear for my liking.

I know a post like this needs pics so below is a quick phone cam shot.

    Regards

    Nidge.

    Hi Baz

I think it's more down to personal taste, I would say mine protrude about an inch and half from the rear valance. I'd like to have mine more flush to the valance, but again it's down to personal opinion. Others who have seen the new system in the flesh have commented that it looks OK.

Now what I do like, and this is really really sad, is the way the steam kind of just meanders out of the tail pipes rather than hurry out, like expressing the attitude of "Oh if I must". Now I think it's sad as some people attribute a personality to their cars, I've just given water vapour a bl%^dy voice

    Regards

    Nidge
