    Default head gasket???

    if a head gasket is gone. how big of a job is getting it repaired?

    Depends on what the vehicle is and what engine it has but as a rule it's a good days job for most garages ........!!!!!!

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

    a v8 range rover. as long as the heads arent warped it should be ok right?

    My parents 4.0 jeep was in the garage for 3 weeks but most of it was waiting for parts. still about 3 days work tho...

    The heads will probably have to be skimmed, most garages take it somewhere else to do it, so probably a couple of days. The wifes Punto blew its HG last year, got it fixed including skimmed for £180

    Do you know which bank? Or are you going to get both done at the same time? If only one is done and they skim the head, make sure they don't take off too much, you DON'T want the banks to have significantly different compression ratios.

    The RV8 is a very forgiving engine, and the heads are fairly easy to get off, and as it's over head valve it won't disturb the cam timing.

    What size is it, and what fuel system, carb or injection?

    bit of a nightmare mate all the bolts have to be replaced and you have to make sure it is done right on those.the best and the cheapest option i would say if can get it to belfast landrover centre out in saintfield those guys really know there stuff and are far cheaper than the likes of hursts and will do a real good job.they looked after my dicovery when i had it and they done a head on my brother in laws diesel range rover.give them a ring for a quote.hope this helps

    well i havent bought it yet but if i do might just take your advice neil and take it to the pro's in saintfield. least then im covered
