    Default Network Q extended warranty

Just a note to would be buyers of a Network Q car.....I purchased my 3.0CDTI early Jan', and have just extended the Network Q warranty until April '08, (when usual warranty runs out), for £180. As far as i'm concerned that's a bargain and has to be worth it. I have used Network Q whilst on my travels before with the Vectra B, (air mass meter went down and into limp mode), drove into an unknown Vauxhall garage in Barnstaple, sat and had a coffee whilst it was done and went on my way with nothing to pay, inside of 20 minutes.... so it does/can work! For peace of mind I think that sort of money is peanuts considering what it covers, also unlimited mileage too.

    Duncan.

NB: I wasn't aware this was available, the offer came out of the blue in the post, so don't know if this is alimited offer or par for the course.

Floopin heck - that is a good price. I didn't bother to extend my Network Q on this car as I still had a years manufacturers warranty (I know NQ covers more) but when I did extend it on my last car (Astra G) I'm sure it was £300 odd (£370 seems to ring a bell!)

£180 for two years is fantastic!!!!

I had some renewal stuff through but on closer reading I was not offered a full extension of the existing network Q warranty

All it included over the 3rd year standard manu warranty was AA cover and something else minor which I cant remember now.

hmm for £180 - no thankyou!

Aah, is that what you've got Ziplex? What exactly did you get covered for that price?

Yep that is what I was thinking -unless they have changed something now (I had the letter a month or so ago) as my NetworkQ rang out yesterday! (It was my car's second birthday yesterday...ahhh) - I thought it sounded like a good deal until I read it properly

Read through it and it states Full Network Q Assistance, MOT Test Guarantee, 'Comprehensive Protection' - mechanical and electrical parts and labour- unlimited mileage cover, etc etc.......it is stated that the plan is aimed at cars that are under one year old on purchase and you have to apply within 6 weeks, but as I read it, and I have now 3 times, it's the standard Network Q guarantee with the usual wear and tear exeptions' ie: tyres, brakes, battery, clutch etc. The price varies dependant on how much 'top up' you need, mine worked out at £180, or as I did...10 interest free payments of £18.00. So yep, it's the full monty as far as i'm concerned as not anywhere does it state anything other than full Network Q cover.....sorry guys but things must've changed and I feel this is a genuine offer.

    Well, if that's the case......

Wonder if that's a recent offer then. I bought my car in May 2004 when the car was 11 months old. Never got anything through, whatsoever!, in 2005 about renewing Network Q - but the dealer that I bought the car from was s**t so I'm not surprised!!

Perhaps I read this wrong - but:

I thought the 'Full NetworkQ assistance' = AA cover for the period

The MOT cover was the thing I forgot about - so if your car fails its first MOT anything which is needed to be done will be fixed free - barring wear and tear items.

But surely this is not the same as NetworkQ cover which is in effect the same as the first year warranty - or so the dealer told me!.

or perhaps it is ? I'm confused now
