    Default Auto Box DipStick

    Ok guys, once again i'm gonna show you that under the bonnet i'm a total novice.

    When i open the bonet on my 3.2 where can i see the green dipstick that goes into the auto box. I stood like a right numpty for 15 mins last night looking for it and gave up in the end.

    There isn't one mate, level is checked by a plug in the box iirc.

    Thanks VV, but Mark (Gsi 3.2) has said that there is. It is secured by a hex bolt and is only around 2" long.

    Knowing Vx but, i'm sure the bolt it a bleedin nightmare to get off

    Ahh, I'd take his word over mine on that one, I know VX stopped putting dips in the Omegas and assumed the same of the Vectra, as he owns that model and knows his stuff he will be right on it.

    Yeap there is one as Mark (Sensei) said....look for a green "nipple" thats it....its quite down the engine bay to the right (standing in front of the car that is) HTH

    I've had mine out and it's dead easy. Will try and put a photo up 2mrw.

    stand in from of the car looking down on the gearbox..about 1/2 way down the front of the gearbox , and 4" along from the engine there is a small green round 'plug stem'.. that is the top of the dipstick.. you can't just pull it out as it's secured in with a 12mm headed bolt..note the hot and cold markings..and as ever the level should be checked on level ground, with the engine running and the 'box in park..
