Thread: Another iTunes / PC Question ????

    confused Another iTunes / PC Question ????

    All my Music (4000+) Tracks are stored on an external Hard Drive that used to show up in "My computer" as "Local Disk (F"

    BUT NOW FOR SOME REASON IT'S CHANGED TO "Local Disk (G: )

    So now the iTunes won't play any songs on the PC Because the path is wrong??? why has it changed and what do i Do...

    PLEASE HELP !!!!

    have you tried renaming the external hdd back to F:\ ?

    Yeah I tried renaming it but thats all it does " Re-name it" the root is still (G: )

    when i say rename - i mean through administrative tools - that actually assigns the drive its letter

    trying to remember how to do it now!!!

    All the music is still on the Ext HDD and iTunes still shows it in the library It just won't play anymore is says

    The Song " - - - - - - - - -" could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?

    Goto control panel>administrative tools>computer managment>storage>disc managment>right click on the drive and change drive letter

    It happend to me once when I plugged a usb mem stick in the pc and when i plugged my external in it assigned it a different letter
