    Default Cruise control feature

Has anyone noticed that if you set the cruise control at a speed and then manually increase vehicle speed by pressing the accelerator pedal, after a few minutes the cruise control will switch itself off and the light on the dash goes out.

Yep me too. I haven't worked out if there is a time element, but there is a speed element in that if you increase speed by 20MPH over what the cruise was set to, it switches off.

Most noticable in roadworks when I've set it for say just under 50, then accelerated up to 70 once clear.

I'll have to have a look - I have noticed you can't set it immediately after starting the engine & driving off - I don't know if down to a certain length of time, distance or maybe engine temp but it certainly won't switch on for a few minutes!!

Never happens on mine. I often put my foot down when in cruise and it always goes back to the pre-set speed when I lift my right foot.

Yes, the road works thing is when i noticed it.

I can set mine immediately when setting off and reaching the minimum speed allowable.

You have to keep above the set speed for a while, I estimated about 3 minutes before it cancels. (or maybe it is speed de-activated)

    vectra 2003 manual states:
"For safety reasons, the cruise control
cannot be activated until the foot brake
    has been activated once."

Thought mine was broken recently, set off from a carpark, clear run to the main road, quickly up to speed and CC would not turn on at all, only after I touched the brake could I activate it.
