Battery Replacement???

How often should the battery be replaced?
The reason i ask is the veccy is due its first MOT soon and i was tempted to try and get it replaced by the VX warranty
What do you think the chances are?

They would not replace it unless it went wrong within its guarentee. I mean, would currys replace your TV just because its nearly a year old and nearly out of guarentee.

If it starts your car and does what it should - 0% chance of a free replacement!

Last time I asked the factory fitted battery only has a 12 month warranty on it anyway.
Though a identical replacement battery has a 2 year warranty, go figure that out !
You'll get a better battery, with a longer warranty and cheaper from your local motor factors.

As Big Sig said, you'll only get a new one under warranty if it's faulty i.e. they'll put the battery tester device on it and it'll show the condition/state of the battery.

That's what I was initially told by my dealer when I suspected I had a dodgy battery - until the warranty person corrected him and said it was covered under the Vx three year warranty - got it replaced under that as the battery tester indicated it was not holding it's charge.
