    Default Quick Tyre Pressure Q

About a month ago I took the car in for its service at the main dealer, got it back all in order and thought nothing more about it.

Went out today to give the car a once over before a long journey and noticed that all the tyres had been reset to 31 psi/2.15 bar - the book clearly states that it should be 35 psi/2.4 bar minimum - why do they do this.

Not the first time ive got the car back from a garage anf this has been the case, am i missing something???

Tyres are 215/55/16 Goodyear Excellence all round.

esp if it's not the first time it's happened. I know the recommended pressure for 17" tyres is 32, which I never paid any attention to...

yep, used both a hand held pressure tester and the digital one on my compressor, they have always been accurate to each other.

Some garages seem to think all Vectras have the same recommended pressure. They should know damn well they can vary from one engine type and/or wheel size to another. I've also seen tyre pressure charts in tyre fitting places at least a year out-of-date, and not even covering Vectra 'C's. Not good enough. You should be aware of what your tyre pressures should be and insist on them being done right.

Agreed, but pressures can vary by engine type/wheel size. The pre-facelift 2.0T on 17"s is 35 all round.
