Now, this is pretty odd.
I've had a little drip coming out the car for a couple of weeks now.
Took it to a friend who works as a coach mechanic who thought it was gearbox oil - so, having had the gearbox repaired not so long ago, took it back to the place where I had the gearbox done who had a look and told me it was engine oil.
Apparently their transmission oil is bright red and a completely different consistency to what is coming out - so it can't be transmission fluid and they thought it felt like engine oil.
My engine oil is going down - about a litre every 3 weeks so I thought they were probably right. Sump was cleaned so I can get my usual mechanic to find where the leak is coming from.
Just went for MoT today and got an advisory on a Gearbox Oil Leak - any ideas where I go now as I'm being told that it's the gearbox leaking oil but I'm losing engine oil
Any ideas anyone?
