Default How to get wax off black sills ?!

I have never used tape to mask off the area I going to wax but it is something I am thinking about.

As a result of not using it, I have white marks on some of the sills and other black plastic around wing mirror etc. What is most effective at removing these marks please?

    Hi Leviathan,

I use some 96% alcohol (the cleaning kind ) to remove any remaining wax, especially from dark plastic surfaces. This is very kind on the plastic and does a wonderful job removing the wax.

    Good luck!

Thats an unusual one - but easy to try I guess and unlikely to cause any damage. Cheers

I had wondered about using an alcohol based cleaner but was worried it might strip the plastic or cause the rubber sills to perish?! Thanks though, it obviously hasnt done any harm to yours.

The alcohol disolves the wax, a cloth takes it of and the alcohol has vapourised before you know it ... Works a treat ... No harm whatsoever.

I always find with products like these that they apply themselves over the wax and in time the wax shows through again. I want to remove it completely this time. However - A.glym BC is a great product imo
