Wax.................... well how long is a piece of string. I think Colinite 915 and Vicroria Concours Wax are amongst the best, they are probably the best at long lasting too, but it is more of choice I think as we all seem to have a favorite.

Clay bars look like play-doh,normally used with a lubricant such as last touch to remove bonded dirt from the surface, have a look on Detailing World it'll give you loads of info and recommended products.

Its all down to individual preference really - as Tyreman says, have a look at detailingworld.co.uk -

I went on a detailing training day recently because I bought a machine polisher (Megs G220) and was a bit scared to use it. I have bought Dodojuice lime prime as a pre-wax cleaner as it has very mild abrasive action and leaves a clean surface on which to wax - I use Dodojuice purple haze wax because my car is black and it gives a nice wet look finish (and it smells nice too).

Ed mentions the Collinite which is really popular in the UK now and as far as I remember it comes from the US/Canada because they have really harsh winters and this wax is good to last all winter and protects the vehicle from the salt on the roads as well as snow and ice (as well as give a nice shiny finish) - I have never used it myself.

If you want to go really mad, you can spend thousands on Zymol waxes - I saw a demo of Zymol Royale (at £1800.00 a pot - albeit a swarovski crystal pot) vs. a pot of Dodojuice Supernatural which is priced at a more reasonable £95.00 a pot and I could not tell the difference looking at the beading etc.

As regards claying, have a look here for a useful guide (mods please remove if I am not supposed to be linking to other sites): http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ead.php?t=4829

Have a play and see what suits you
