Default Recomend me a dvd player for the car please

As our eldest daughter is turning 5 this week i thought i would get her a DVD player for the car as going on trips is getting a bit boring for her.

Would need a 2 screen system as we also have a 1.5yr old.

Would need to play dvdr's as i would use them in the player not originals.

    Cheers folks

I have had two different ones that have been OK but not that great, and have just opted for a Nextbase system.

A friend has a Nextbase player and it is a superb bit of kit, so I decided that is what I would have.
They also do a load of accessories you can get that plug into the player. Infrared headphones/games sytem/freeview tuner etc etc.

Have a look here, I have done a lot of digging about and these are about the best supplier, price wise, I have found,

I have the SDV37s, This one

The SDV185s is similar, side loading disc, tablet style player etc etc but has a larger screen, nice bit of kit.

They are very good quality players, and come with a 2 year manufacturers guarantee.
Not the cheapest but then I think you get what you pay for with stuff like this.

£100 is what I originally wanted to spend but ended up spending more to get a better set up.

You could always get a single screen and a mount that fits the screen between the two rear seats so both kids can see it.

    Screen like this;

Mount for the screen like this,

Still a bit over £100, works out at £126.94 delivered but is good stuff.

Problem I found is my little one is three years old, although she is very tall for her age when the dvd was mounted on the headrest she could not see the screen. It was too high and at the wrong angle. There is no adjustment to tilt the screen down so she could see it. The bag velcros to the headrest and thats it.
Thats why I ended up going for a mount option as they do tilt and swivel.
It would not be so much of a problem if the kids are older as they will be that bit taller.
The other problem with one of the players I had was that when you wanted to change a dvd you had to take it out of the bag that mounted it to the headrest which was a major pain in the a***!
I had to stop the car every time little one wanted a different dvd.

Little things but worth thinking about! )
