    Vehicle : Vectra

    Trim : Design

    Engine : CDTi 150

    Year : 55

    Default Which Oil?

Been looking for prices for an oil and filter change:

    One local Dealer quoted £45 another £49, this includes a 10 / 40 oil.

Is this correct for the CDti 150 engine as I thought it was th 0 / 30 oil.

Errr... that seems really cheap - I can only just buy the oil and filter that cheap, let alone the change as well.

Needs to be 5W30 semi or fully synthetic. Make sure you're getting at least semi synth or your engine will NOT be impressed.

5-30 mate, yours is an auto so will probably have a DPF. The right sort of oil is vital mate. The 10-40w is cheaper....... silly dealers.....
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

5w/30 Mobil 1 epo (extended performance oil) with a filter change.

£45 from quick fit for a CDTI - you have to ask for an oil upgrade service.

I think its better to use fully synthetic oil which passes Opel/Vauxhall GM-LL-B-025
    (for "longlife" - approx. 18500 miles), like some 0W-30 ; 5W-30 ; 0W-40 ; 5W-40
oils (I'm using Castrol's EDGE 0W-30) - for any diesel engine.

    Absolutely. The 5W-30 is better.
