Default K&N Apollo Fitted, But I'm worried!

Fitted it yesterday after a lot of mucking about with connecting it as I have to wait for the adapter so it's a boj job ATM as I'm too impatient to wait for the adapter. The sound of the dump valve has at least doubled in sound and I'm slightly worried about it. Anyone know why it would sound louder as it's still going to be sucking the same amount of air in, but it's now so much louder.

I know recently when I forgot to connect the intake pipe back to the airbox it sounded similar????

it'll be louder as the filter won't deaden the intake noise (which the dump valve dumps back into on the recuirculating system)..thats all.... they do only filter the same amount of air, but the 'sports' filters can be a whole heck of a lot louder than the K+N panels..

So I'm all good Breath of relief LOL. It does very nice though and not noisy at all when sucking so very happy apart from the way it looks as I've got black tape holding the filter to the original air intake and cable ties everywhere

Love the louder dump. Iwas thinking of fitting a dump valve, but have heard bad stories from a guy who fitted one to his signum 2.0T, but wont bother now as it's more than loud enough to turn heads

It's a bit untidy ATM i.e it's got black tape holding the intake to the front of the filter, but I've got the adapter now so will sort it out, but might buy a Samco hose to make it look better

Has a very minute rumble at low revs which is nice.

Keep an eye on this seller as thats where I got mine. £80 to your door and even though it's universal all you need is the 70-60mm adapter that I got from MSW.
