    Default Fly-by-wire upgrade

Was surfing and came across the site below and a link (sorry if its been posted before, 1st time I’ve seen it). Has anyone fitted one – does it make a difference.

Did not think that this would/could be modified – do all vecs (models & pre/post facelift) come with the same standard of fly-by-wire system.

The list seems to say it only cover Left Hand Drive models?

I ran some tests with and without a Sprint Booster in my SLK. I wrote a technical white paper on the results. You can download it from bipesauto.com/sprintbooster.

The Sprint Booster is a simple amplifier that multiplies the accelerator pedal sensor signal, making the accelerator pedal more sensitive. It does not eliminate any significant delay in throttle response, nor does it greatly improve acceleration figures. It does not change the adaptive throttle control programming of electronic throttle control vehicles. It does change pedal “feel”. This change in feel is interpreted by some as improved throttle response, acceleration, and a change in adaptive throttle control programming. Considering what it actually does, it is expensive.

    Hi Ditchp,

It was the only word that made me think that the comment applied to the vec.

Ah well merikiito, sound like it could be too good to be true (still interested to know if all vecs have the same throttle response as standard if anyone knows)

    It's snakeoil swatty..another 'tuning' gimmick..

there is no way a device fitted to the throttle pedal potentiometer can make the intake servo motor open quicker for the same given voltage..

I'd be keeping my money on that one..and saving it for better exhaust headers..

Sounds similar to the sports mode on the missus Astra. The engine revs higher with lower pressure on the accelerator. Doesn't go any quicker though.
