TMS??

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what the TMS is on my headunit? When i activate sat-nav it automatically trys to connect to a TMS station (think it's TMS??) What is it.

when active its supposed to list any delays/warnings on route or in the area....however ive never had any displayed (NCDC 2013), so dont know if it works

never had any come up on our NCDC unit either..

It's not enabled on the NCDC systems - I asked Vauxhall and NavTech about it when I had a Y reg B with the Nav and Phone system in, and it's close enough the same one in the early C models.

I think on the later models with the larger screens (facelift only?) it is - whether there is a software update and new disk for the older systems I don't know - not checked recently.

It is, but you need a sat nav disc not older than 2005 (I think it must have the iTMC-logo on it) and, as LAV6Y wrote, the radio must be tuned to a radio-station that sends the TMC-signal.

Ah OK - thanks for that. My B was a 2001 car, and my current C is a 2003 and I'm still using the original disk which would explain it. May be worth looking at getting the latest disk then,

TMC = Traffic Message Channel.

On mine I normally have between 80 and 120 "events" on display.

The only channel that i can tune to and get updates is Classical Fm.
I have an NCDC unit and it does receive updates, but as said before, i have to be tuned to classical Fm.

Asif thats gonna happen
